South Carolina FFA Leadership Center Caretaker, #9893

Position Description

The SC FFA Center Caretaker position will be housed on the campus of the SC FFA Center in North Myrtle Beach, SC. The position will require the caretaker to live on site in housing provided (at no cost) by the SC FFA Association.

The hours worked will vary during various times of the year. When camp is in session, the caretaker must remain on-call 24 hours a day to address maintenance needs.

The caretaker will be responsible for the maintenance as well as the security of the facilities.

The caretaker will be responsible for the maintenance of both the grounds and the buildings of the center.

The caretaker will work under minimum supervision.

Below you will provide a list which will include descriptions of duties that will need to be performed by the caretaker. Other duties not listed may be required as the need arises.

 

  • Provide maintenance and repair all buildings which include (Cabins-4, barracks-5, cottages-2, gymnasium-1, cafeteria-1. Staff house-1, office-1, maintenance building -1)
    • Responsibilities will include the following:
      • Clean floors (sweep and mop)
      • Clean windows
      • Dust
      • Keep dorms stocked with supplies
      • Take out the trash
      • Clean showers
      • Clean toilets and urinals
      • Clean sinks
      • Ensure equipment in buildings are in working order
      • Repair leaky faucets, showers or toilets
      • Ensure that all rooms are properly furnished for all events
      • Ensure clean linens are available in guest cottages
      • Maintain or ensure the maintenance of building's exterior
  • Provide maintenance on the grounds to include the swimming pool.
    • Responsibilities will include the following:
      • Cut grass
      • Weed flower beds and around buildings
      • Rake leaves
      • Clean / clear debris
      • Clean and repair the following:
        • Putt-Putt golf course
        • Dock and fishing area
        • Trails
        • Low Ropes course
        • High Ropes course
  • Maintain Pool (must become certified pool operator - we will pay for the training)
    • Responsibilities will include the following:
      • clean / cover
      • apply chemicals
      • monitor pool operation
