BALLEW RECEIVES CLEMSON ACADEMIC AWARD
Justin Ballew of Lexington, SC, a senior at Clemson University majoring in Agricultural Education, has been named recipient of the J. Alex Hash Academic Achievement Award for 2010, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA organization.
The prestigious award, named in honor of retired Clemson University Agricultural Education Department Head and professor J. Alex Hash, was presented to Justin by the Clemson Collegiate FFA Organization for maintaining the highest grade point average in his courses during the year. “Justin has maintained this outstanding academic record at Clemson for two consecutive years,” Mr. Parris stated.
A member of the Lexington Technology Center FFA State Champion Nursery-Landscape team in 2007, Justin competed in the national finals held during the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Justin is the son of Joel and Lucy Ballew of Lexington. His FFA advisor while in high school was Tommy Harmon, agricultural education instructor at the technology center.
