MCCANNON NAMED PRESIDENT OF SC AGRICULTURAL EDUCATORS

CLEMSON, SC…Steve McCannon of Pendleton, SC, a member of the faculty at the B.J. Skelton Career Center in Easley, is the new president of the South Carolina Agricultural Educators Association, according to John W. Parris, State Director of Public Affairs for Agricultural Education.

Mr. McCannon, a graduate of the University of Georgia with a BS Degree in Agricultural Education, earned a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Education at Clemson University in 1989.

A former Agricultural Education teacher at Jackson County Comprehensive High School, Jefferson, Georgia, McCannon holds a similar position at the B.J. Skelton Career Center. He and his family own and operate Cedar Ridge Farm in Pendleton.

A member and past president of the Anderson County Farm Bureau, McCannon is a recipient of the SC Farm Bureau Young Farmer Achievement Award.

He has been named Teacher of the Year at the BJ Skelton Career Center and a recipient of the Honorary State FFA Degree.

Mr. McCannon and his wife, Nancy Gentry McCannon, have two children, Katie and Joey. Katie is president of the Pendleton FFA Chapter.
