SC AGRICULTURAL EDUCATORS ATTEND NATIONAL CONFERENCE

COLUMBIA, SC… Hillcrest High School faculty member Mark Earle, president of the SC Agricultural Educators Association, led the state delegation to the National Association of Agricultural Educators annual convention in Nashville, Tennessee, November 17-21, 2009, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs for Agricultural Education.

Others in attendance from South Carolina included Agricultural Educators Amanda Nichols, Saluda High School, president-elect of the state association; Barry Hawkins, Edisto High School, secretary-treasurer; Jeremy Brooks, Midland Valley High School; Aaron Miles, Latta High School; Meghan Wood, Aiken High School; Brittany White, J. Harley Bonds Career Center; Mindy Sandifer, Barnwell County Career Center; Robert Bollier, Cheraw High School; Dr. Tom Dobbins, program coordinator and professor of Agricultural Education at Clemson University; Dr. Phil Fravel, Agricultural Education professor at Clemson; and Joe and Marie Wilson of Aiken.

South Carolina Agricultural Educators Jeremy Brooks, Aaron Miles and Meghan Wood were recipients of awards presented by the national organization. Robert Bollier, Cheraw High School and a participant in the 2009 National Agriscience Teacher Academy, conducted a workshop at the convention.

The National Association of Agricultural Educators is a professional organization designed to represent the interests of agricultural educators at the national level, provide unique training opportunities and recognize outstanding accomplishments of its members.
