VAUGHAN IS OUTSTANDING YOUNG TEACHER

COLUMBIA, SC….Annette Vaughan, a member of the faculty at the Union Career and Technology Center, has been named the Outstanding Young Agricultural Educator in the Mid-State region for 2009 by the SC Agricultural Educators Association, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the organization. The prestigious award was presented to Ms. Vaughan at a recent ceremony held on the Clemson University campus.

A native of Simpsonville, Ms. Vaughan is a graduate of Hillcrest High School and Clemson University with a BS Degree in Agricultural Education. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Agricultural Education.

“The SC Agricultural Educators Association is a professional organization dedicated to providing excellent educational opportunities for students and adults interested in or involved in the science, business or technology of 21 st century agriculture,” Parris said. “Ms. Vaughan is the ideal choice for this honor in recognition of her successful career in agricultural education,” he added.
