In addition to her responsibilities in the classroom, Nichols serves as advisor to the FFA and Young Farmer-Agribusiness chapters in the county.

Ms. Nichols was elected to this important state agricultural leadership position at a recent conference of Agricultural Educators held on the Clemson University campus.

The SC Agricultural Educators Association is a professional organization dedicated to providing challenging educational opportunities to students and adults interested in or involved in the science, business or technology of 21 st century agriculture.

“Agricultural Education continues to be an important part of the curriculum in secondary schools, community colleges and universities because agribusiness is the number one industry in the nation employing approximately twenty percent of the work force,” Parris said. “There are more than 300 career opportunities available in American agriculture for those who are interested and educationally prepared,” he added.
