WILLIAMS RECEIVES STATE AGRICULTRUAL EDUCATION AWARD

Allen Williams, agricultural education instructor at Wagener-Salley High School for more than 25 years, has been named recipient of the Outstanding Mentor Award for 2010 by the SC Association of Agricultural Educators, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs for Agricultural Education.

“Mr. Williams was recognized by his peers for his many years of inspiration and encouragement to beginning agricultural educators,” Mr. Parris said. “His influence and guidance has made a significant difference in the lives and careers of numerous young teachers over the years.”

A native of Seneca, SC, Mr. Williams attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, Georgia, and transferred to Clemson University where he received a BS degree in Agricultural Education and a Masters of Agriculture in Animal Science. He has also completed 30-plus credit hours in Agricultural Education at Clemson University.

Mr. Williams was named the Outstanding Agricultural Educator in South Carolina in 2008 and served as president of the SC Agricultural Educators Association in 2008-09.
