LAS VEGAS, NEVADA…Ashley Granata, agricultural education instructor at the Anderson School District Five Career Campus, was presented the National Teachers Turn the Key Award by the National Association of Agricultural Educators at a national conference in Las Vegas, Nevada in December 2010, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs for Agricultural Education in South Carolina.

“The Teachers Turn the Key award is designed to recognize outstanding early career agricultural educators who are making a significant impact in the lives of students through quality classroom instruction, successful Supervised Agricultural Experience programs and superb participation in FFA activities,” Mr. Parris said.

As a national recipient of this prestigious award, Miss Granata was presented a scholarship to defray all of her expenses to attend the National Association of Agricultural Educators annual conference in Las Vegas, and an engraved plaque. The awards program is sponsored by the RAM Truck Brand as a special project of the National FFA Foundation.

Miss Granata, a native of Pickens County who served as a state FFA officer while in high school, is a 2007 graduate of Clemson University with a BS degree in Agricultural Education and a minor in Animal and Veterinary Science.
