ROBINSON IS NATIONAL FINALIST IN TRACTOR RESTORATION

Matt Robinson, a senior at Strom Thurmond
High School and member of the FFA chapter, was named one of ten National
Finalists in the FFA-sponsored Restoration Program at the National FFA
Convention, according to John W. Parris, State Director of Public Affairs with
the SC FFA Association.. He was the only one from the southeast to make the
finals.
He successfully restored a 1943 Farmall tractor that had been sitting for 13
years with bushes growing up around it.
The son of Johnny and Jane Robinson of the Sweetwater community, Matt plans to
be a farmer and a machinist.
Dan Henderson and Hugh Bland, Agricultural Education Teachers at the Strom
Thurmond Technology Center, along with others, assisted him in completing the 36
page application form and preparing for the interview at the national
convention.
