ANDERSON DISTRICT I & II TECHNOLOGY CENTER FFA TEAM
TOPS IN REGION
COLUMBIA, SC….The Crescent High School Agricultural Education Department hosted the recent Piedmont Region FFA Tractor Operators and Tool Identification Finals for high school students from an eight-county area, according to John W. Parris, State Director of Public Affairs with the SC FFA Association.
Chris Corzine, Agricultural Education Teacher at Crescent High School, coordinated the Agricultural Engineering-related events with assistance from Dr. Phil Fravel, Associate State Director of Agricultural Education at Clemson University and members of the Clemson University Collegiate FFA Organization.
In the Tractor Operators Competition, the Anderson District I & II Technology Center Team took first place honors followed by the Ware Shoals Team and the Crescent Team. High Individual Scorers were John Landrum, Anderson District I & II Technology Center, first; Anthony Burnett, Crescent, second; and Jordan Beeks, Anderson District I & II Technology Center, third. The Travelers Rest Team placed first in the Tool Identification Competition followed by the Anderson District I & II Technology Center Team and the Abbeville Team. The top three teams in each category will compete in the State Finals later this month.
The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
