NATIONAL FFA PRESIDENT TO ADDRESS YOUTH CONVENTION AT CLEMSON UNIVERSITY

COLUMBIA, SC…National FFA President Jackie Mundt of Pittsville, Wisconsin, will address the State FFA Association Convention at Clemson University, June 8-10, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA organization. Mundt, a freshman at the University of Wisconsin where she is majoring in Agricultural Economics, is on leave from college while serving as the National FFA President.

Highlights of the convention include the recognition of FFA Stars Over South Carolina, Outstanding FFA Chapters, State FFA Degree recipients, State Champions in twenty Career Development Events, College Scholarship awardees, the FFA-Young Farmer and Agribusiness Golf Tournament and the election of new State FFA Officers.

Other speakers are Dr. Calvin Schoulties, Dean of College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences at Clemson and Kimberly Green, a National Sales Coordinator with the Archer-Daniel-Midlands Company. Green, a native of Manning, is a former president of the SC FFA Association and a graduate of Clemson University in Agricultural Education.

The State FFA Officers are Jamie Hughes, President, Pickens; Josh O’Rear, Secretary, Aiken and Clemson University; Jonathan Dorn, Vice President, Calhoun Falls and Erskine College; Ashley King, Vice President, a senior at Manning High School; Jennifer Perkins, Vice President, Conway and Clemson University; and Ethan Sansbury, Vice President, Latta and Clemson University.

Keith Cox, an official with Clemson University’s Agricultural Education Department, serves as Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the SC FFA Association.
