YORK FFA LIVESTOCK TEAM TAKES TOP STATE HONORS

CLEMSON, SC… The York FFA Livestock Evaluation Team took first place honors in the State Finals at Clemson University recently, according to John W. Parris, State Director of Public Affairs with the SC FFA Association.

Team members Rebecca Keller, Emily Nance, Samuel Hall and Ben Thomson along with Frank Sandifer, Agricultural Education Teacher at the Floyd D. Johnson Technology Center, were awarded expense-paid to compete in the National Finals in Louisville, KY., later this year.

Rebecca Kelly was the High Individual Scorer and Ben Thomson was Third High Scorer in the State competition. “Livestock Evaluation is among the most competitive of the many Career Development Events sponsored by the SC FFA Association, “ Mr. Parris said. “The York team members and Mr. Sandifer are to be commended for this outstanding achievement in agricultural education”, he added.

The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
