CLEMSON, SC....Jamie V. Hughes of Pickens, SC, was named President of the South Carolina FFA Association for 2004-05 at the association's annual conference held at Clemson University recently, according to John W. Parris, State Director of Public Affairs with the SC FFA.

A 2004 graduate of Pickens High School, Jamie served as an officer of the B. J. Skelton Technology Center FFA Chapter while in high school. He will enter Tri-County Technical College in the fall and plans to transfer to Clemson University later where he will major in agriculture.

Other officers elected are: Josh O'Rear, Secretary, Aiken, SC; Jonathan D. Dorn, Vice President, Calhoun Falls, SC; Ashley King, Vice President, Manning, SC; Jennifer Perkins, Vice President, Myrtle Beach, SC; and Ethan Sansbury, Vice President, Latta, SC.

The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success thought agriculture education
