Anderson I & II Career and Technology Center FFA TEAM TOPS IN REGION FINALS

COLUMBIA, SC….The Anderson I & II Career and Technology Center FFA Tractor Operators Team was named the Piedmont Region Champions in the FFA-sponsored competition held in Anderson County recently, according to John W. Parris, State Director of Public Affairs with the SC FFA Association. The team will compete in the State Finals later this month in Columbia, SC.Team members Jordan Beeks, third high individual scorer in the multi-county event; John Landrum, high individual scorer; Michael Wilkie and Justin Wright out-scored FFA teams from Spartanburg, Greenville, Laurens, Pickens. Oconee, Anderson, Abbeville and Greenwood Counties to take the top honors.
“The purpose of this agricultural engineering related competition is to provide students an opportunity to demonstrate their superb skill in operating a tractor while practicing appropriate and adequate safety precautions”, Parris said.
The Anderson I & II Career and Technology Center FFA Team Advisors are Audie Green, Agricultural Education Teacher at the Center, and Kyle P. Hatcher of Anderson, a senior at Clemson University majoring in Agricultural Education, who is practice teaching at the Center this semester.
The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
