BURDETTE SHOWS CHAMPION SWINE AT STATE FAIR

COLUMBIA, SC….Andy Burdette of Moore, SC, a member of the R.D. Anderson Technology Center Future Farmers of America (FFA) Chapter, took top honors in the Swine Shows at the 2004 State Fair, according to John W. Parris, State Director of Public Affairs with the SC FFA Association.
Named the Senior Champion Showman, the Grand Champion Showman and recipient of the 2004 Herdsman Award at the fair, he showed the Grand Champion Spotted Boar, the Grand Champion Yorkshire Boar, the Grand Champion Spotted Gilt and the Grand Champion Commercial Gilt in each of the Junior and Senior Divisions.
He also showed the first place February Spotted Boar, the first place April Spotted Boar, the first place May Spotted Boar, the first place April Yorkshire Boar, the first place February Spotted Gilt, the first place April Spotted Gilt, the first place May Spotted Gilt and the first place May Commercial Gilt.
“Andy is one of the outstanding FFA members in South Carolina and a superb swine producer and showman”, Parris said.
A student at Spartanburg Technical College, he is a son of the Reverend and Mrs. Alvin L. Burdette of Moore, SC. His FFA Advisor is Johnny Bradley, Agricultural Education Teacher at the R.D. Anderson Technology Center.
