“The Honorary American FFA Degree is the highest award available to friends and supporters of the 476,000 member National FFA Organization”, Parris said. “Recipients are recognized for their superb leadership in support of the FFA at the state, regional and national level over a number of years”, he added.
More than 50,000 FFA members, their advisors, parents, school administrators, sponsors and other supporters from all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands attended the 77th National FFA Convention, October 27-30.
In addition to conference sessions, attendees had an opportunity to visit the Agricultural Career Show which covered nearly 6 acres under one roof with 400 exhibitors. The exhibitors provided valuable information on one or more of the 300 career opportunities in the science, business or technology of agriculture.
The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
