LORIS  FFA CHAPTER  WINS  TOP  STATE  AWARD

 CLEMSON. SC…The  Loris FFA  Chapter  was  named  the  Outstanding  Chapter  Development  Program  in  South  Carolina  for  2004  by the SC  FFA  Association,  according  to  John  W.  Parris,  State Director of  Public  Affairs  with  the  SC  FFA.  The  award  was  presented at  the  recent  State  FFA  Convention held  at  Clemson  University.

Chris    Bellamy,  an  officer of  the  chapter  and  Ben  Hardee,  Agricultural  Education  Teacher  at  Loris  High  School, were  presented  the  Governor’s  Citation  of  Accomplishment  for  this   prestigious  achievement  by  Wesley  Harris  and  Larry  Rogers  with  the  state  office  of   the  USDA  Farm  Service  Agency,  the  sponsor of   the  National  FFA Chapter Awards  and  Recognition  Program.

Charles  Springs, Chairman  of  the  SC  Rural  Rehabilitation  Corporation  which is a co-sponsor  of  the  awards  program  in  South  Carolina,  presented  Chris  and  Mr.  Hardee  a  check  for  $1000  to  defray  their  expenses  to  attend  the  National  FFA  Convention in  Louisville,  Kentucky  this  fall   where  they  will be  competing in  the  finals  for  the  Outstanding  FFA  Chapter  in  the  nation.

“This  award  is  a  notable  laurel  to  come  to  the  Loris  FFA  Chapter  and  one richly  deserved”,  Parris  said.
