COLUMBIA, SC.. The Pelion High School FFA Wildlife Management Team took first place honors in the State FFA Association-sponsored Finals held at the National Wild Turkey Federation Headquarters in Edgefield, recently, according to John W. Parris, State Director of Public Affairs with the SC FFA organization. This is the fifth consecutive year a Pelion team has taken top honors in this Agri-Science event.
"Team members Gary Williamson, Jesse Blanton, Jeff Padgett and Ben Treaster along with FFA Advisor Frank R. Stover, Jr., Agricultural Education Teacher, won expense-trips to the 2005 National FFA Convention In Louisville, Kentucky", Parris said. "Jeff Padgett and Jessie Blanton tied for the High Individual Scorer in the very comprehensive competition", he added.
The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success.
