WALL NAMED STATE FFA STAR FARMER

CLEMSON, SC…..W.C. Wall of Edgefield, SC, a student at Strom Thurmond High School and a member of the Strom Thurmond Technology Center FFA Chapter, was named the State FFA Star Farmer for 2004 at Clemson University recently, according to John W. Parris, State Director of Public Affairs with the SC FFA. “This award is the highest recognition available to an FFA member in South Carolina who is actively engaged in farming,” Parris said.
Marie Stiles, Executive Director of the SC Cooperative Council, presented W.C. a check for $1200 on behalf of the Council who sponsors this prestigious award to defray his and his FFA advisors’ expenses to the National FFA Convention scheduled in Louisville, Kentucky, in October.
W.C. is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Wall. His FFA advisors are Hugh Bland and Dan Henderson.
He is a member of the Saluda Cattlemen’s Association, the Saluda Young Farmer and Agribusiness Chapter, National Wild Turkey Federation JAKES and the Palmetto Tractor Club. He is an active member of the Mckindree Methodist Church and the Northside Volunteer Fire Department
Upon graduation from high school, he plans to enter Clemson University where he will major in Agricultural Education with career plans to teach agriculture and farm.
