COLUMBIA, SC….Andrew Jackson High School FFA members Catlin Rollings, Chris Brown, Jeremy Ussery and Corey Gardner were very successful showing beef cattle at the recent State Fair, according to Roger Estridge, Agricultural Education Teacher and FFA Advisor at the school.
Catlin Rollings showed the first and second placed animal in the Zebu Crossbred Class. Corey Gardner’s animals placed fourth and fifth and Jeremy Ussery’s animals placed fifth and sixth in the Crossbred Class.
Each of the students participated in the SC Farm Bureau-sponsored Scholarship competition and did extremely well, Mr. Estridge said.
More FFA members from chapters across the state participated in the State Fair Beef Cattle Show than at any time in recent years.
The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of members by developing their potential for premier leadership, persona l growth and career success through agricultural education.
