BURDETTE NAMED STATE FFA VICE PRESIDENT

COLUMBIA, SC….Michael Burdette, a 2005 graduate of Calhoun Falls High School, is the new Vice President of the SC FFA Association, according to John W. Parris, State Director of Public Affairs for the SC FFA.

He was elected to this prestigious agricultural education leadership position at the closing session of the recent State FFA Convention held at Clemson University.

Burdette, President of the Calhoun Falls FFA Chapter, was Valedictorian of his graduating class. A member of the 2004 State Envirothon Team, he competed in the North America Envirothon and the National FFA Environmental and Natural Resources Career Development Event. He was also a member of the State-winning Agricultural Issues Team and competed in the National Finals.

A recipient of the Governor’s Citizenship Award, Burdette is listed in Who’s Who Among American High School Students.

The son of Tony and Kay Burdette, Michael will attend Erskine College this fall.

His FFA Advisor is Calvert Sherard, Agricultural Education Teacher at Calhoun Falls High School.
