COLUMBIA, SC….Former South Carolina Governor and FFA Alumnus Carroll A. Campbell, Jr., died Wednesday, December 7, 2005, at the Lexington Medical Center.
A native of Greenville, Governor Campbell was a nationally recognized FFA Alumnus. He was selected for inclusion in the National FFA Organization’s Wall of Honor in l996 and attended the National FFA Convention in Kansas City, Missouri, to receive the award.
Governor Campbell was nominated for this prestigious national honor by John W. Parris, State Director of Public Affairs with the SC FFA Association, who was also serving as Executive Secretary of the SC FFA at the time. Campbell’s Agricultural Education teacher and FFA Advisor Jack Black, who resides in Greenville, assisted in the nomination process.
