CHEATHAM AWARDED AGRICULTURAL SCHOLARSHIP

CLEMSON, SC….Drew Cheatham, immediate past president of the Strom Thurmond Technology Center FFA Chapter, was awarded a $500 college scholarship by the SC Fertilizer and Agrichemical Association at the recent State FFA Convention held on the beautiful Clemson University campus, according to John W. Parris, State Director of Public Affairs with the SC FFA.

Mike Watkins of Pendleton, Executive Director of the SC Fertilizer and AgriChemicals Association, made the presentation..

The scholarship is named in honor of Hilton V. Rogers of Clemson, SC, retired Executive Director of the SC Fertilizer and AgriChemicals Association. He is also an FFA Alumnus and retired Clemson University Agriculture Official.

Drew will enter Clemson University this fall to major in Horticulture with plans to obtain an advanced Degree in Landscape Architecture.

His FFA Advisors are Hugh Bland and Dan Henderson, Agricultural Education Teachers at the Strom Thurmond Career and Technology Center.

The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
