CRESCENT FFA CHAPTER WINS TOP STATE AWARD
COLUMBIA, SC….The Crescent High School FFA Chapter, Iva, SC, has been named the Outstanding Chapter Development Program in South Carolina, according to John W. Parris, State Director of Public Affairs with the SC FFA.
The chapter was presented the Governor’s Citation of Accomplishment at the recent State FFA Convention by J. Kenneth Rentiers, Jr., State Executive Director of the USDA Farm Service Agency and Wesley Harris, Chief Farm Loan Officer with the agency, which sponsors the Awards and Recognition Program.
Tom Walker, Executive Director of the SC Rural Rehabilitation Corporation, a co-sponsor of the program in South Carolina, presented chapter officials a check for $1000 in recognition of their superb achievement.
Lauren Gailey, 2004-05 president of the Crescent chapter and April Perry, 2005-06 chapter president, along with FFA Advisors Chris Corzine and Josh McCall, received the Governor’s Citation and the check.
“The Crescent FFA Chapter will compete for the Outstanding Development Award at the National FFA Convention scheduled later this year,” Parris said.
