EARLE RECOGNIZED BY SCHOOL BOARD
The Chesterfield County School District Board of Education and Superintendent recently recognized E. B. Earle, retired Agricultural Education teacher and FFA advisor at McBee High School, for over 50 years of service to the school district, according to John W. Parris, State Director of Public Affairs with the SC FFA Organization.
Mr. Earle was honored for his role as chairman of the committee responsible for securing funding from the proceeds of the government land reserves to help pay for schools in the area. This provision which was written into the South Carolina State Budget has generated millions of dollars for Chesterfield County schools since l957.
He was also commended for an outstanding teaching career which included being named Chesterfield County Teacher of the Year and one of the sixteen outstanding agricultural education teachers in South Carolina in the 75 year history of the FFA organization.
The Board demonstrated their appreciation to Mr. Earle by presenting him a framed resolution of commendation signed by the members and superintendent and established a $1000 college scholarship to be named in his honor. The scholarship will be presented to a Chesterfield County student annually.
Board Chairman Jerry Holley of McBee is an FFA alumnus and a student of Mr. Earle.
