SC FFA MEMBERS RECEIVE TOP NATIONAL AWARD

COLUMBIA, SC….Seven South Carolina FFA members were presented the American FFA Degree at the recent National FFA Convention held in Louisville, Kentucky, according to John W. Parris, State Director of Public Affairs with the SC FFA Association.

Those who received the prestigious national award are: Aiken FFA member Carolyn Bryant; Central FFA member Jonathan Rivers; Carolina Forest FFA member Jennifer Perkins; Loris FFA member Christopher Bellamy; Calhoun Falls FFA members David Dorn and Alex Gleason; and Crescent FFA member Justin Wilson.

“The American FFA Degree is the highest award available from the 490,000- member national agricultural education youth organization”, Parris said. “Selection for this honor is determined by the student’s supervised agricultural program accomplishments, academic achievement and leadership abilities”, he added.

The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
