GILBERT FFA FLOAT TAKES TOP HONORS IN PEACH FESTIVAL PARADE
The Gilbert High School FFA Float was named the first place winner in the Civic Non-Professionally Designed category in the Lexington County Peach Festival Parade in Gilbert, SC, July 4, according to John W. Parris, State Director of Public Affairs with the SC FFA Association.

A number of governmental and agricultural officials in attendance at the festival and the luncheon included US Senator Lindsey Graham, US Congressman Joe Wilson, State Treasurer Grady Patterson, State Commissioner of Agriculture Hugh Weathers, State Comptroller General Richard Eckstrom, State Superintendent of Education Inez Tenenbaum and the Lexington County Legislative Delegation
Derrick Cooper, Agricultural Education Teacher at Gilbert High School, is the FFA Chapter Advisor.
