JOHNSON IS STATE FFA STAR FARMER FINALIST
COLUMBIA, SC…..Virgil Johnson, a 2005 graduate of Estill High School, was named a State FFA Star Farmer Finalist at recent State FFA Convention held on the Clemson University campus, according to John W. Parris, State Director of Public Affairs with the SC FFA.
Johnson, an active member and officer of the Estill FFA Chapter, produces swine, goats, beef cattle, corn, soybeans and watermelons as his supervised agricultural education experience program. He owns one-third share of the crops.
He has served as a member of the FFA Forestry, Agronomy and Farm Business Management teams. He is also a member of the Junior Meat Growers Association.
Virgil is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Johnson, Sr., of Estill, SC.
His FFA advisor is Thomas Dawkins, Agricultural Education Teacher at Estill High School.
