MCBEE FFA CHAPTER WINS TOP STATE AWARD
COLUMBIA, SC…The McBee High School FFA Chapter was named State winner of the Outstanding Student Development Award for 2005 at the recent State FFA Convention at Clemson University, according to John W. Parris, State Director of Public Affairs with the SC FFA.
Jacob Earle, President of the McBee Chapter and FFA Advisor W. Pat Earle were presented the Governor’s Citation of Accomplishment by J. Kenneth Rentiers, Jr., State Executive Director of the USDA Farm Service Agency, and Wesley Harris, Chief Farm Loan Officer with the agency. The USDA Farm Service Agency sponsors the National FFA Chapter Awards and Recognition Program.
Tom Walker, Executive Director of the SC Rural Rehabilitation Corporation, a co-sponsor of the recognition program in South Carolina, presented the chapter representatives a check for $1000 in recognition of their superb achievement.
The McBee chapter will compete in the Student Development category of the National FFA Chapter Awards and Recognition Program Finals at the National FFA Convention in Lousiville, Kentucky in October.
