GLEASON RECOGNIZED BY TENNESSEE FFA ASSOCIATION
COLUMBIA, SC….Alex D. Gleason of Calhoun Falls, SC, a former State FFA Vice President and junior at Erskine College on full scholarship, was presented a beautiful plaque by the Tennessee FFA Association in recognition of his EXPEDITION NUTRITION campaign across the US promoting agriculture, proper nutrition and a healthy life style earlier this year.
Gleason met with a number of agricultural educators and addressed a conference of state career and technology administrative staff in Nashville while visiting the state. He was interviewed by a number of major newspapers and TV stations in Tennessee.
Tennessee’s FFA Executive Secretary Bob Lannon made the plaque using a worn tire from Alex’s bike as the frame. The plaque included an engraved plate and several photographs highlighting his trip across the nation.
The plaque was presented to Alex at the National FFA Convention by Mr. Lannon and Steve Gass, State FFA Advisor in Tennesse,e on behalf of the state FFA association. Jim Loftis, Executive Director of the Tennessee FFA Foundation, also attended the ceremony.
