BHP AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT TOPS IN S.C.

COLUMBIA, SC….The Belton-Honea Path High School Agricultural Education Department, headed up by Glenn Stevens, has been named the Outstanding Program in South Carolina by the State Agricultural Educators Association, according to John W. Parris, state director of Public Affairs with the organization.

Among the major accomplishments of the department is its outstanding FFA Chapter. The chapter has received the Gold Emblem Award, the highest recognition available at the state level, eight times during the past ten years and the Governor’s Citation of Achievement twice.

Mr. Stevens, previously named the Outstanding Agricultural Educator in the state, has served as president of the South Carolina Agricultural Educators Association. He has also served as a member of the board of directors of the South Carolina FFA Association and the State FFA Foundation.

A graduate of Clemson University with a BS Degree in Animal Science and a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Education, Mr. Stevens has been teaching for twenty years.

The Outstanding Agricultural Education Program Award was presented at the State Agricultural Educators Association Recognition Banquet held at Clemson University recently.
