POWERS NAMED STATE FFA VICE PRESIDENT
CLEMSON, SC….Jacob Powers, a 2005 graduate of Lexington High School, is the new Vice President of the South Carolina FFA Association, according to John W. Parris, State Director of Public Affairs with the SC FFA.
He was elected to this prestigious agricultural education leadership post at the closing session of the recent State FFA Convention held on the Clemson University campus.
Jacob, who was named the Outstanding Student at the Lexington Technology Center for the 2004-05 school year, is a member of the State Champion FFA Nursery-Landscape Team and will compete in the National Finals at the National FFA Convention in Louisville, KY, later this year.
He will attend Spartanburg Technical College this fall where he will major in Horticulture.
Jacob is a son of Jeff and Barb Powers of Lexington. His FFA Advisor is Tommy Harmon, Agricultural Education teacher at the Technology Center.
The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
