Darla Simons with Ricky McDanielSIMONS WINS AGRICULTURE SCHOLARSHIP
COLUMBIA, SC….Darla Simons, a sophomore a Clemson University and a 2004 graduate of Strom Thurmond High School, has been named recipient of the SC Young Farmer-Agribusiness Association’s Collegiate Scholarship, according to John W. Parris, State Director of Public Affairs with the SC FFA Association.
Simons was selected for the scholarship because of her outstanding leadership as president of the Strom Thurmond Technology Center FFA Chapter, superb participation in the Clemson University Collegiate FFA Organization and successful academic achievement, Parris said. The award was presented by Ricky McDaniel of Sumter, SC, President of the SC Young Farmer-Agribusiness Association.
The daughter of Ronald and Becky Simons of North Augusta, SC, Simons is majoring in Agricultural Education at Clemson University. Her local FFA Advisors are Hugh Bland and Dan Henderson, Agricultural Education Teachers at the Strom Thurmond Technology Center.
