Ginger was presented an engraved watch for her superb achievement in the competition. Teams from high schools throughout the state competed in the event.
The West Oak FFA Soil Judging Team was coached by Stanley Gibson, Agricultural Education Teacher at the high school.
Agricultural Education students who participate in the FFA Soil Judging competition must match their skills in determining the adaptability of land for various purposes and uses such as farming and home site development. The competition emphasizes principles essential for careers in environmental science, agri-business, real estate marketing, homebuilding and natural resource conservation.
The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
