TYNER NAMED STATE FFA PRESIDENT

CLEMSON. SC….Stephen Tyner, a 2005 graduate of McBee High School, is the new president of the South Carolina FFA Association, according to John W. Parris, State Director of Public Affairs with the SC FFA. He was elected to this prestigious agricultural education leadership post at the closing session of the State FFA Convention held on the Clemson University campus, June 8-10.

Tyner, an active member and officer of the McBee High School FFA Chapter, will enter Clemson University later this year where he will major in Bio-Engineering in the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences.

“The fourth top academic student in his graduation class, Tyner has been awarded a number of scholarships including the Paul Byrd Scholarship and the Life Scholarship”, Parris said.

He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Walters. His FFA Advisor is W. Pat Earle, Agricultural Education Teacher at McBee High School.

Other newly elected state officers are Jacob Powers, Vice President, Lexington; Emily Waggoner, Secretary, Pendleton; and Regional Vice Presidents Michael Burdette, Calhoun Falls; Shane Grice, Graniteville; and Jason Gore of Loris.

The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
