COLUMBIA, SC….The Pelion High School FFA Wildlife Management Team took first place honors in the State FFA Association-sponsored Finals held at the National Wild Turkey Federation Headquarters in Edgefield recently, according to John W. Parris, State Director of Public Affairs with the SC FFA Organization.
This is the sixth consecutive year a Pelion Team has taken top honors in the Natural Resources Science event.
The team members are Andrew Palmer, Brian Yongue, Kelli Vellenga and Kayla Corbett. They were coached by Frank R. Stover, Jr., Agricultural Education teacher at Pelion and Mrs. Charlotte Jennings, a Clemson University student majoring in Agricultural Education, who is practicing teaching at Pelion this semester.
The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
