THURMOND FFA WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT TEAM IN STATE FINALS

COLUMBIA, SC…The Strom Thurmond FFA Wildlife Management Team was named State Runner-Up in the Finals held recently at the National Wild Turkey Federation Headquarters in Edgefield, according to John W. Parris, State Director of Public Affairs with the SC FFA Organization.

Team members Josh McIlvried, Michelle Miller, Natalie Watson and Ashley Doolittle were coached by Hugh Bland, Agricultural Education Teacher at the Strom Thurmond Technology Center.

Michelle Miller was the high individual scorer followed by Josh McIlvried who was the second high individual scorer. Ashley Doolittle was the third high scorer and Natalie Watson was the seventh high scorer in the state competition.

Wildlife Management is a Natural Resource Science activity in the curriculum offerings of a number of agricultural education departments in South Carolina and rates among the most popular career development events conducted by the SC FFA Association.

The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
