YORK FFA AG MECHANIZATION TEAM TO COMPETE IN NATIONAL FINALS

COLUMBIA, SC….The York FFA Agricultural Mechanization team from the Floyd D. Johnson Technology Center was named first place winners in the state competition held at Clemson University recently, according to John W. Parris, State Director of Public Affairs with the SC FFA Association.

Team members Benji Fairfax, Cale Caveny and John Thomas along with their advisor, Frank Sandifer, Agricultural Education Teacher and FFA Advisor at the technology center, were awarded expense-paid trips to the National FFA Convention to be held in Louisville, KY in October, to participate in the National FFA-sponsored Agricultural Mechanization Finals.

Benji Fairfax was the high scorer and John Thomas was the second high scorer in the state competition.

The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
