YORK FFA CHAPTER AWARDED COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT GRANT
COLUMBIA, SC…..The York FFA Chapter at the Floyd D. Johnson Technology Center was recently awarded a $1000 Community Empowerment Grant from the Wal-Mart Foundation, according to John W. Parris, State Director of Public Affairs with the SC FFA Association.
York Wal-Mart Assistant Manager Benji Adams made the presentation to York FFA Chapter Officer Whit Mitchell. Others in attendance included Ron Roveri, Director of the Technology Center; Frank Sandifer, Agricultural Education Teacher and FFA Advisor; and Rebecca Keller, another York FFA Officer.
According to Mr. Sandifer, the funds will be used by the Agricultural Education Department to develop its Turf Management program.
