CENTRAL FFA CHAPTER NAMED CHAMPIONS OF THE ENVIRONMENT
COLUMBIA, SC…The Central High School FFA Chapter in Pageland, SC, has been named a Champion of the Environment in South Carolina by the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control, WIS-TV, International Paper and Voridian, sponsors of the program, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA organization.
The chapter will receive a $500 grant, and a professional commercial showing the students in action will be made and used on WIS-TV on a regular basis for approximately one month.
They will also compete for a substantial cash award as the outstanding program during the school year.
“ This is a very prestigious award to come to the Central FFA Chapter and they are most deserving of this recognition for their superb effort to improve and protect the natural environment”, Parris said.
Tim Maye and Ashli Young, Agricultural Education teachers at Central High School, are the FFA Advisors.
