CHESTER FFA TEAM ADVANCES TO STATE FINALS

COLUMBIA, SC…The Chester FFA Tool Identification Team has advanced to the state finals in the agricultural engineering-related competitive event, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA organization. The regional competition was held at the Chester County Career Center on Saturday, February 18.

“ Chester team members Travis Hancock, Evans Davis and Jonathan Cornwell competed against high school teams from throughout the mid-state region”, Parris said. “The Chester team will participate in the state finals scheduled at the State Fair Grounds in April”, he added.

Kip Beam, Agricultural Education teacher at the Chester County Career Center, coached the local team. This competition is open only to first year students enrolled in Agricultural Education courses.

The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
