FORT MILL FFA DAIRY FOODS TEAM HEADED TO NATIONAL FINALS
COLUMBIA, SC….The Fort Mill High School FFA Dairy Foods Team took first place honors in the state competition held at Clemson University recently, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the FFA organization.
Team members Allison Rabon, Sarah Stevens, Rachel Ostendorff, Nicole Ross and Holly Dunn along with their coach, Carrie Bolin, Agricultural Education teacher at Fort Mill High School, were awarded expense-paid trips to compete in the National Dairy Foods Finals at the National FFA Convention scheduled later this year in Indianapolis, Indiana. Rachel Ostendorff and Sarah Stevens tied as the high individual scorers in the over-all event.
“The study of dairy foods is a major part of the increasing emphasis on food science by agricultural education departments in secondary schools throughout the state”, Parris said.
The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
