The DNR Team composed of Calhoun Falls FFA members Rachel Brandt, Cody Brown, Matthew Dorn, Patrick Shea and Hunter Cooper, along with Agricultural Science teacher Calvert Sherard, were awarded expense-paid trips to compete in the Canon-North American Envirothon scheduled at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Canada, July 26-29. Each member of the state championship team also won a $500 college scholarship and Mr. Sherard received a $500 cash award. As a result of the team placing first in soils, water quality and forestry, they received an additional $150.
