FLORENCE FFA MEMBERS COMPETE IN STATE HORTICULTURE FINALS

FLORENCE, SC…Florence Career Center FFA members competed in the State FFA-sponsored Floriculture and Nursery-Landscape Finals held at Spartanburg Technical College in Spartanburg recently, according to John W. Parris, director of public affairs with the SC FFA organization.

Debra Merrill, Kelsey Yeargin, Rose Sims and Clayton Wainright competed in the FFA Nursery-Landscape career development event. Brittany Gandy, Kelsey Yeargin, Lizzie Turner and Victoria Gregg competed in the Floriculture event. Joan Alexander, Horticulture Instructor and FFA advisor at the Career Center, coached the two teams and accompanied them to the state competition.

The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career successs through agriculture education.
