NATIONAL FFA PRESIDENT TO ADDRESS AGRICULTURAL
YOUTH CONVENTION AT CLEMSON

CLEMSON, SC…Hundreds of FFA members from throughout South Carolina will convene at Clemson University June 7-9 for their 79 th annual convention, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA organization.

National FFA President Travis Jett of Oklahoma will be the keynote speaker for the convention. A junior at Oklahoma State University where he is majoring in Agricultural Economics, Jett is on leave from the university while serving as a national FFA officer.

Other highlights of the convention program include the FFA STARS OVER SOUTH CAROLINA Ceremony, recognition of the Outstanding FFA Chapters, honoring State Champions in Career Development Events and FFA Proficiency categories, awarding State FFA Degrees, presenting College Scholarships and participating in the SC FFA-Young Farmer and Agribusiness Association Golf Tournament.

The State FFA Officers are President Stephen Tyner of McBee; Emily Waggoner, State Secretary of Pendleton; Jacob Powers, State Vice President of Lexington; Michael Burdette, State Vice President of Calhoun Falls; Shane Grice, State Vice President of Warrenville; and Jason Gore, State Vice President of Loris, SC.

Keith Cox, an official with Clemson University’s Agricultural Education Administration, serves as State Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the SC FFA Association. William E. Keels, State Director of Agricultural Education with Clemson University, serves as the State FFA Advisor.
