SC FFA-SPONSORED LEGISLATORS APPRECIATION DAY SET
Legislators and other governmental officials will join hundreds of FFA members, advisors, parents, school administrators and others at the State Capitol Wednesday, February 22, 2006, at 11 AM, for State Legislators Appreciation Day and to celebrate the observance of National FFA Week, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA organization.
FFA members, many of them dressed in their traditional blue and gold jackets, will begin visiting State Senators and members of the House of Representatives at 8:30 AM and be introduced to the House and Senate while in session later in the morning.
The Legislators Appreciation Ceremony will begin at 11:00 AM on the north steps of the State Capitol led by the State FFA Officer Team.
A Joint Resolution of Commendation of the FFA by the House of Representatives and Senate will be presented by the Honorable William D. Witherspoon, Chairman of the House Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee. A Proclamation by Governor Mark Sanford recognizing the FFA and Agricultural Education will also be presented to the State FFA officers.
A record breaking crowd of FFA members and friends from throughout South Carolina, is expected to attend this impressive and inspiring agricultural education event.
