LEXINGTON FFA NURSERY-LANDSCAPE TEAM HEADED TO NATIONAL FINALS

COLUMBIA, SC….The Lexington Technology Center FFA Nursery-Landscape Team took first place honors in the State Finals held at Spartanburg Technical College recently, according to John W. Parris, director of public affairs with the SC FFA Association.

Team members Justin Wright, Jessica Hook, Robbie Fox and Cooper Ress along with FFA Advisor Tommy Harmon, were awarded expense-paid trips to compete in the Nursery-Landscape Finals at the National FFA Convention scheduled in Indianapolis, Indiana, later this year.

Robbie Fox was the high individual scorer and Justin Wright was the second high individual scorer in the overall event.

The Strom Thurmond Technology Center team was Runner-Up in the state finals. Team members are Jonathan Holmes, Ryan Williams, Michelle Miller and Ashley Doolittle. Ashley was the third high scorer in the overall state competition. Hugh Bland and Dan Henderson are the FFA advisors at the Center.

Anderson I & II Technology Center’s team place third in the state finals. Team members Zach Haddan, Jeffery Ambrose, Clay Jordan and Greg Brewer were coached by Steve McGaha, Horticulture Instructor at the Center.

The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
