TEAL NAMED STATE FFA STAR FARMER

COLUMBIA, SC…Benjamin K. Teal of Patrick, SC, a recent graduate of McBee High School, was named the South Carolina FFA Star Farmer at the recent State FFA Convention held on the Clemson University campus recently, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA.

Ben, the son of Don and Doris Teal, is an integral part of the daily operation of his family farm. Maintaining the farm equipment is his responsibility and one he thoroughly enjoys.

 

He has a fifty percent share in approximately 20 acres of tobacco along with soybeans and corn. He also produces and markets goats for additional income.

An active member of the McBee FFA Chapter, Ben was recently awarded a $1000 college scholarship by the Chesterfield Quail Unlimited Association.

This prestigious award is sponsored by the SC Cooperative Council and includes an expense-paid trip to the National FFA Convention for Ben and his FFA Advisor, W. Pat Earle, Agricultural Education Teacher at McBee High School. The award was presented by Miriam Pflug, Director of Public Affairs and Marketing, AgSouth Farm Credit Association, Spartanburg, SC, on behalf of the council.
