COLUMBIA, SC….The Central High School FFA Tool Identification team has advanced to state finals by successfully competing in the agricultural engineering-related event held recently at the Pee Dee Research and Education Center near Florence, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA organization.
“Team members William Bowe, David Unnone, Matthew Plyler and Terry Tucker earned the right to participate in the state finals by successfully competing against high school teams throughout the Pee Dee region”, Parris said. “Matthew Plyler was the second high individual scorer in the over-all event”, he added. The State Finals will be held at the State Fair Grounds in April.
The team was coached by Tim Maye and Ashli Young , Agricultural Education teachers at Central High School.
The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through Agricultural Education.
