MYRTLE BEACH FFA TOOL IDENTIFICATION TEAM ADVANCES TO STATE

COLUMBIA, SC….The Myrtle Beach FFA Tool Identification Team at Carolina Forest High School has advanced to state finals by successfully competing in the agricultural engineering-related event held recently at the Pee Dee Research and Education Center near Florence, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA organization.

“Myrtle Beach FFA members Russell Strickland, Tim Cherry, Charles Purvis and Derek Whitt placed second in the competition against high school teams throughout the Pee Dee region and earned the right to participate in the state competition set for the State Fair Grounds in Columbia in April”, Parris said.

The team was coached by Harry Dubose, Agricultural Education teacher at Carolina Forest and Ashley Granata, a senior at Clemson University majoring in Agricultural Education, who is practice teaching under the supervision of Mr. Dubose.

The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through Agricultural Education.
